Resources

Most of what gets written about coffee and acid is either vague reassurance or a sales pitch. This is our attempt at the other thing: plain explanations of what is actually happening in your cup and in your stomach, written so you can make your own decision about what to do.

Everything here is organised into three areas. Start wherever your question sits.

Coffee and acid reflux

Why coffee triggers heartburn, why decaf so often fails to fix it, and what the pH of a cup of coffee really means. This is the section for anyone who has worked through the standard advice — switch to decaf, try a dark roast, stop drinking it on an empty stomach — and is still uncomfortable by mid-morning.

Gut health and minerals

What alkaline minerals do, why magnesium and potassium keep appearing in this conversation, and how to read an ingredient panel without taking the marketing at face value. Less about coffee specifically, more about the system it lands in.

Your morning ritual

The practical end. Brewing choices, timing, what to eat alongside, and how to change one variable at a time so you can tell what actually helped. Most people fix this by adjusting habits rather than by buying something.

How to use this section

You do not need to read it in order. Each article stands on its own and says plainly where the evidence is solid and where it is thin.

Where we mention Alkalizing DIRT, we have tried to be clear about what it does and does not do. It raises the pH of the coffee in your cup. It is not a treatment for reflux disease, and nothing here replaces a conversation with a doctor if your symptoms are frequent or severe.

Still have a question?

Our FAQ covers the practical ones — taste, dosage, shipping, subscriptions. If something is missing from both, tell us and we will write it.
